The North Carolina Community College System offers the Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s Motorcycle Safety Programs.  This program offers the  Basic Rider Course for new and re-entry riders; the  Experienced Rider Course which is intended for those riders with a minimum of 6 months riding experience , and the Advanced Rider Course for those who want to enhance their motorcycle riding skills. Shelton’s Harley-Davidson offers the Rider’s Edge New Rider Course and Skilled Rider Course. The New Rider Course includes 4 days of instruction where students will learn about motorcycle, how to get comfortable with the controls and shifting. The skilled rider course develops rider’s skills on control and low speeds, risk management and other riding skills.  All courses are approved by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.

The Tilley Harley-Davidson of Salisbury offers motorcycle safety courses to new and skilled riders through Rider’s Edge, the H-D Academy of Motorcycling. Upon completion of the New Rider Course, students will earn a waiver that may streamline their motorcycle licensing process and, upon completion of the Skilled Rider Course, riders will earn more discounts on motorcycle insurance.
