Learn How to Ride a Motorcycle in South Dakota
If you want to learn how to ride a motorcycle in South Dakota, visit the South Dakota Safety Council (http://www.southdakotasafetycouncil.org/motorcycle/index.cfm) The South Dakota Safety Council is the state’s designated motorcycle Safety Training center. They offer courses throughout the state in order to help motorcyclists prepare for their license tests. They administer the license tests as the final step in the courses they offer.
The Basic Rider Course
The Basic Rider Course is the riding and street skills course that consists of 15 hours of instruction. Upon completion of the course, new riders will obtain a waiver for the South Dakota Riding and Written tests for the motorcycle endorsement on their driver’s license. Most importantly, they will get knowledge, skills and experience that could be the difference between avoiding being part of an accident.
The Experienced Rider Course
The Experienced Rider Course consists of 4 hours of riding practice and up to one hour of classroom activities conducted by expert rider coaches. Those who have previously completed the Motorcycle Rider Course or the Basic Rider Courses are qualified to take this course. Aside from that, applicants must be licensed motorists who frequently ride, possess basic operational skills and capable of passing the skills test assessment.
