Montevallo MSF Motorcycle Safety Foundation
The Alabama Motorcycle Safety Program offers various training courses through the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, including Basic Rider Course ($275), Experienced Rider Course ($125), Advanced Rider Course ($125), and RiderCoach Preparation Course ($500) at locations such as Montevallo, Mobile, Gadsden, Montgomery, and Tuscaloosa starting in May 2025. Registration policies include a fee for the course and a requirement to attend on the specified dates. Refunds or rescheduling are not available within 14 calendar days of the class start date due to increasing demand for courses. Missing or being late for any session will result in the student not being allowed to continue, and they will not receive a refund or be rescheduled. BRC2: Experienced Rider Course
This additional Rider Education and Training course focuses on improving skills in cornering, braking, and emergency maneuvers through 100% on-motorcycle practice exercises for riders who have a motorcycle license (or Motor driven cycle license aged 14 - 15) with basic skills. The goal is to enhance motorcycle handling abilities and boost confidence in riding ability by reinforcing key skills learned in the Basic RiderCourse and Basic RiderCourse2 curriculums. A skill test at the end of the course, if passed, can serve as a license waiver; take your completion card to the local DMV. The course is taken on your own motorcycle.

ARC: Advanced Rider Course
The advanced Rider Course offered by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation is intended for proficient and experienced motorcycle riders, with a focus on risk management, personal assessment, riding strategies, behavior, and overall skill development. This one-day program builds upon basic skills while emphasizing perception, hazard awareness through interactive activities in the classroom segment. Range exercises strengthen both fundamental operating abilities and crash avoidance techniques. Emphasis is placed on improving braking and cornering finesse for riders of any type of street motorcycle.

RiderCoach Preparation Course
Minimum qualifications include completion of an application form, at least three years of riding experience with a current motorcycle endorsement, a good driving record (no DUIs or more than two moving violations in the past three years), being at least 18 years old, having a sincere desire to promote safe motorcycling practices and teaching experience preferred. Applicants must currently own and operate a street legal insured motorcycle, have completed high school or higher educational level, and be available to teach on selected weekends on a seasonal basis.

Basic Rider Course
