Level 2 Riding and Advanced Riding
Motorcycle Safety Central Coast Motorcycle Training offers comprehensive motorcycle courses designed to enhance your skills and prioritize motorcycle safety. We provide two distinct programs: Level 2 Riding and Advanced Riding. Both courses are focused on improving your riding abilities and equipping you with the knowledge and techniques needed to handle any traffic situation. Our Level 2 Riding motorcycle class is approximately five hours long and centers on survival skills in traffic, allowing participants to focus solely on improving their riding without the pressure of testing. The Advanced Riding motorcycle course is a one-day program combining 3.5 hours of classroom instruction with 5 hours of riding, concentrating on advanced techniques such as cornering and emergency maneuvers. The courses are structured to provide practical experience and emphasize motorcycle safety. Both the Level 2 Riding and Advanced Riding programs require participants to wear appropriate safety gear, including a DOT-approved helmet, long-sleeved shirts or jackets, sturdy denim jeans, full-fingered gloves, leather boots, and eye protection. A typical day for either motorcycle class will involve approximately 8.5 hours of learning and riding. The tuition for both courses is $175 for all ages, however, a waiver form is required for riders under 18. To ensure a safe and productive learning experience, participants are encouraged to bring their own motorcycle or scooter. Alternatively, a training bike is available for an additional $25 fee. Before commencing any riding, a pre-ride T-CLOCK inspection will be conducted to ensure vehicle safety. Participants must also demonstrate valid motorcycle permit or M1 license endorsement, current insurance coverage, and bike registration. Motorcyclist Training CourseM
The Motorcyclist Training Course (MTC) is a comprehensive program designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary for safe and confident motorcycle operation. Developed in partnership with the California Motorcyclist Safety Program, this motorcycle course focuses not just on riding techniques, but also incorporates crucial mental strategies, judgment, and heightened awareness – essential components of effective motorcycle safety. This structured motorcycle class provides a solid foundation for any rider, regardless of experience level. The MTC is offered at two convenient locations: Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, California (classroom location) and Camp San Luis Obispo Airfield in San Luis Obispo, California (riding location). The course includes a riding skills evaluation, a knowledge test requiring an 80% score, and an introduction to life-saving mental strategies. The average student pass rate is 79%, demonstrating the effectiveness of this motorcycle course in promoting motorcycle safety. The course tuition is $425 for individuals 21 years of age and older, while those 20 years of age and younger pay $395. Importantly, all motorcycles and helmets are provided; however, riders are welcome to bring their own helmets.
